Guyanese advance to medal round
CARIBBEAN BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011
The Caribbean Badminton International Junior Championships (CAREBACO) is being held in Barbados at the Wildey Gymnasium.
The Championships opened yesterday and the Guyanese players Narayan & Priyanna Ramdhani advanced to the Silver Rounds in Singles & Doubles.
In the Under-13 Girls Singles Round Robin, Priyanna Ramdhani reached the Silver Round by defeating Barbadian players Danielle Riley: 21-10, 21-7, Mackenzi Hoeard: 21-3, 21-0 and lost to Amanda Haywood: 18-21, 13-21 (Priyanna was set to play the Under-11 Events which was cancelled due to lack of entries so she played in the under-13 events).
In the Under-15 Boys Singles, Narayan Ramdhani reached the semifinals when he defeated Rashaud Butcher of Barbados in the Quarter-Finals: 21-0, 21-2.
The Under-15 Round Robin Boys Doubles saw Narayan Ramdhani and Daniel Duncan of Barbados reached the Silver Round by defeating Vikash Maraj of Trinidad and Joselito Sanchez of Puerto Rico: 21-14, 21-17.
