Dear Editor,
I believe that your NY representative has not properly handled the research on Digital Technology. When you first published the story on July 21, I did a search on Digital Waves Technology, Inc ( the name you printed) and found that it filed to be registered in New York on July 10, 2009, at the Fulton Street address you published.
However, your story in a recent edition stated that Digital Technology, Inc is not registered.
Well, it seems to me that there may even be an editing problem because the research was done on a name different from the one you mentioned in your July 21 story.
I love and really enjoy reading your newspaper, and wouldn’t like to see you guys being sued over a silly mistake on a story that is this important. So you should find a way to do a mild retraction. You can do that without losing the story’s salient point that a contract was awarded to a company that did not exist, at least not until 2009. You can also even wonder about the United States income tax implications
in this saga. Have these guys been paying taxes in the United States if they or their company have been based in the US since 2002? Perhaps Christopher Ram can look at this.
You can confirm my search results by Googling NYS Department of State Division of Corporation, press enter, then list Digital Waves Technology Inc as the company you are looking for. If you have difficulty, I can e-mail you the results of my search.
By the way, I called the 347-247-3196 number here in NY, but the young woman hung up on me; that’s why I’m writing to you. Lionel Lowe
