Clement La Rose, who pulled out a gun on a technician who allegedly stole parts from his DVD player, was yesterday granted bail in the sum of $40,000 after he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. It is alleged that La Rose, on July 9, last, threatened Sherlon Rodney.
The defendant stated that he was not guilty of committing such an act.
Police Prosecutor Venetta Pindar told the court that Rodney is a technician and was responsible for repairing La Rose’s DVD player.
Pindar stated that La Rose left the DVD player with Rodney for awhile, under the impression that he was repairing it. On the day in question, La Rose went to collect his property from Rodney and was told that it is not finished. As a result, La Rose collected the item and took it to another technician where he learnt that parts were missing.
The court was told that after La Rose received this information he went back to Rodney’s premises, drew a gun, pointed it in Rodney’s direction, and threatened to kill him. The Prosecution had no objection to bail.
La Rose is expected to make his next court appearance tomorrow (July 14).
