A solid performance from Guyana, bolstered with the inclusion of Golden Jaguars Howard Lowe, Nigel Codrington, Dwight Peters, Dwain Jacobs and Devon Millington among others saw Guyana earning a draw in their latest match of the 2011 edition of the Digicel Caribbean Cup – New York, last Sunday.
With Grenada also boosted by the inclusion of a number of players who represented that country at the CONCACAF Gold Cup also being played in the USA, Guyana put in a solid performance aided by some excellent football from players.
Based on reports out off New York, Lowe, McPherson, Millington and USA based Roger Cambridge, who is the Captain of the team, combined to keep Guyana in the hunt for goals but it was the Grenada goalkeeper who kept the Golden Jaguars at bay.
Guyana enjoyed good possession in the second half with Codrington muffing up a good opportunity from close range. A number of the other countries including defending champions Jamaica will be drafting in their Gold Cup players. In three matches to date, Guyana drew two and won the other.
