Vryheid’s Lust man found dead outside Liquor bar
A man believed to be in his mid 60s was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital hours after he was found hanging over an elevated bench outside of a liquor bar in Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara.

The man’s body was removed from the location at around 17:30 hours yesterday by police ranks.
He has since been identified as Michael Seeram of Broad Street, Vryheid’s Lust North.
The man was seen slumped over the bench by residents earlier in the day but no one paid him any mind. However it was only until late yesterday afternoon when a passer-by attempted to awake him that he realised something was wrong.
Residents of the area related that the man was an epileptic and an alcoholic as well and from time to time he would be seen lying in the corner of the road.
“When he drink and fall down he does catch some sleep and get up back and go home…and people must be see he but think he sleeping,” one resident said.
This publication was told that the man’s relatives were summoned to the area and the man was eventually removed and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
However, persons are of the opinion that Seeram could have been alive if persons in the area were more helpful.
“People see this man since two and nobody ain’t go to help this man. It look like he fall down. Even if somebody de pick he up, maybe he coulda live.”
