Dear Editor,
It is with regards to the Ministry of Tourism and the No 63 Beach Committee, that I have decided to drop a few lines on the recent attack on the No 63 Beach project by Ms. Ebony Narpatty dated 2nd March, 2011, under the captions “Did the tourism sector invest its money right at 63 Beach” and “Camouflaging expenses at 63 Beach”, dated Wednesday March 28, 2011, in Kaieteur News.
Ms. Narapatty seems to me, as someone who is very unpatriotic to this beautiful land of ours that is filled with opportunities. Even though Canadian born, she is welcomed and is also benefiting from these opportunities so richly without any objections from the populace or the government. I must say Ms. Narapatty you’re biting the hand that feeds you.
From all perspectives, I see that the provision of these facilities (benabs, pavilions, toilets and changing rooms) as an asset adding to her business in many ways.
I am convinced more than ever that her negativity is doing injustice to the hard work done by not only the Honorable Minister of Tourism and his Ministry, but also public spirited persons, who envision a spectacular tourist spot where people could be refreshed by the calmness and beauty of the beach, while at the same time spend time with their loved ones.
From all appearances, the No 63 beach is even a more attractive place since the recent addition of these stylish benabs, which is now a spectacle for tourism attraction in this section of our country. Added to this I must say from my experience these facilities are always occupied every time I visit the beach.
I also asked some other Berbicians their personal opinion about the establishment of these facilities and none of them had any negative remarks, however, they commended the Ministry of Tourism and those who played an integral part in the development and beautification of the beach and also thanked the Government of Guyana for showing special interest into the development of this section of the country.
Ms. Narapatty you speak of logies. Do you know what these are? Have you ever seen one? I suggest you reflect on your history and do a comparison with those beautiful well-painted and well-designed benabs against logies and please feel free to tell me how your retrospection went.
Your objectionable behaviour in the newspapers towards development is just proving you to be impudent. I highly recommend that you lend a helping hand to this development rather than criticise it.
