The Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities will on Sunday March 27 stage its traditional One Day Horse meet at the Club’s track Alness Corentyne Berbice. Eight races are listed for the day with prize monies totaling over $3.5M in cash and trophies up for grabs.
The races carded for the day are the C & Lower which will be contested over 1500m with a first prize of $450,000 and trophy, then there is the E & Lower 1400m gallop with a winning prize of $260,000 and trophy at stake.
A hotly contested event is anticipated in the 3yrs old Guyana West Indies Bred Open 1500m race which has a top prize of $220,000 and trophy at stake. The G & Lower contest is also a 1400m race where the winner will collect $200,000 and trophy. The hotly contested 3 yrs old Guyana Bred 1400m race has winning money of $200,000 and trophy.
The H & Lower 1400m race goes for a first prize of $150,000 and trophy. The horses contesting I2 & Lower 1400m match up will have a $120,000 first and trophy on offer. The final J, K & L (Division 1, 2 & 3)1400m race will see the winner running off with $100,000 and trophy.
Top individual performers will be presented with trophies ad other accolades compliments of The Trophy Stall and the Ryan Crawford memorial Turf Club and sports Facilities.
The races are run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority and all Horses taking part in any race meeting prior to this meeting are subject to re-classification.
The Club reserves the right to cancel, re-frame or re-arrange the order of any of the races. Owners are asked to have their horses properly entered by paying at least $2,000 of the entrance fees of one race. This amount is not refundable unless owners/trainers provide a certificate from a qualified veterinary officer in event horses sustained injuries prior to the race day.
The Club guarantees presentation of racing programme & tickets to owners/ trainers at least 48 hours prior to the race day.
Entries closed on Sunday March 20 at the Club Office No. 13 Village Hermitage, Corentyne, and at No.19 Road Corentyne.
