Vijay Deo and Carlos Adams came out on top of a field of 21 teams to take the Oasis Cafe Pairs Golf Tournament held at Lusignan on Wednesday.
Despite heavy rains over the previous days and very wet conditions under foot, the event was blessed by glorious sunshine for its 9 am start.
The format was a front nine of the players combined scores and then the back nine holes the best score for each hole was recorded. As such Deo/Adams scored a total of 121 minus their combined handicap of 35 for a winning score of 86 Second place went to DIH Duo Clifford Reis and Mark Lashley gross 130, 43 handicap net 87, and third to Patrick Prashad and a resurgent Colin Ming who scored a combined 112, handicap 23, net 89.
Nearest to the pin went to the team of Fazil Haniff and Kishun Bacchus. In remarks to the gathering Treasurer Brian Hackett thanked Oasis Cafe for its support which included catering for sandwiches and a lunch. Proprietor Nisa Walker said she was proud to be associated with the club and added that as a bonus prize all the winners would be entitled to a free lunch at Oasis Cafe.
Meanwhile next Wednesday will see the Kissoon Group of Companies Golf Tournament with a 09:00hrs start.
