Antigua-The police have released details of an early morning incident on New Year’s Day that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old Guyanese man.
According to information received, the first road fatality for the year occurred on the Herbert’s Main Road near Veg International.
William Fordyce of Potters Village had been walking south with his bicycle when he was hit from behind by a silver Honda Civic, A33905, owned by Fern Dyer of All Saints. The incident happened around 5:55 am.
William Stewart, 65, of Clarke’s Hill had been driving the vehicle, and initially left the scene, but later turned himself in to the police.
A passerby spotted the body and called for help. Fordyce was pronounced dead on the scene. (Caribarena)
