The National Under-20 football team preparing for the second round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Qualifiers to be held in January 2011 will be engaged in a number of practice matches during the current Kashif & Shanghai Football Tournament, according to a Guyana Football Federation press release.
The GFF stated that the K&S Organisation have agreed for the inclusion of three (3) practice matches during the tournament involving the National Under-20 team and three Club teams selected from among those no longer vying for championship honours in the tournament.
“It is envisaged that these games will provide excellent opportunity for the necessary practice and exposure of the National U-20 team and the Clubs selected. The games will also bring an additional dimension to the Kashif and Shanghai Tournament itself,” the release informed.
Clubs selected to participate in those games are Rosignol United FC, Fruta Conquerors FC and Riddim Squad FC, in that order. The games have been scheduled as follows: Monday December 27 vs Rosignol United; Wednesday December 29 vs Fruta Conquerors and Saturday January 1 vs Riddim Squad.
All games commence at 16:00hrs, at the Guyana National Stadium and will precede the Kashif and Shanghai games scheduled for those dates.
The National Under-20 squad reads: Dorville Stewart, Jovano Dos Santos, Colin Edwards, Alden Lawrence, Les-Charles Critchlow, Keoma Sullivan, Delroy Ferdinand, Calvin De Souza, Ralph Moffatt, Eon Alleyne, Jermain Batson, Garson Baker, Amos Ramsay, Marco Marcos, Treyon Bobb, Dwayne Lawrence, Andel Norton, Olvis Mitchell, Deshawn Joseph and Ryan Crandon.
