According to one of the victim’s relatives, Roger was last seen alive up to Friday night when he was imbibing with ‘high-wine’.
There are speculations that he may have gotten intoxicated beyond control and may have fallen into the canal.
It was explained that the father of one, who was often intoxicated, would use profanities while under the influence, but would not set out to hurt anyone.
“He would even take cigarette and burn himself, he is what you can call insane.”
One relative said that after Roger returned from Columbia 18 years ago, he started behaving strangely and was never the same person.
“He would drink ‘off the rocks’, and would walk all over the place and come back days later.”
Residents said that the deceased would do various odd jobs in the area to earn his drinking money.
