ANSA McAL says Dr Ramsammy misleads newspaper
…bid is for 75, 000 female condoms
ANSA McAL Trading Limited yesterday said that as it relates to the article carried in this newspaper, “Female Condoms attract $28M bid, Health Ministry looking to secure
29,000 units,” it is in fact 75,000 units.
As such the company pointed out that their bid, which may seem excessive given the published amount, was in fact based on 75,000 units.
This newspaper wish to point out that it was Minister Leslie Ramsammy who supplied this newspaper with the figure of 29,000.
The company applauded Kaieteur News’s initiative to inform the public so as to ensure transparency.
The company also pointed out, “It is also worthy to note that condoms attract VAT and our bid was VAT Inclusive.”
