Action in the Regal Stationery & Computer Centre over-35 Male T/20 and Females Open 10/10 Softball Cricket tournament organised by the Guyana Softball League (GSL) in collaboration with The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport continued last Sunday with matches in the Georgetown, East Coast and Linden zones.
Regal XI and Success XI remained unbeaten in the city Zone while Fallim Mohamed (72) and Hardat Singh (51) of P&B XI put together 91 from 60 balls to help sink Back Street Warriors to defeat with entertaining batting which highlighted the latest round of matches.

At the Ogle Ground:
P&B XI defeated Back Street Warriors XI by 26 runs:
P7B XI made 202 all out in 20 overs (Fallim Mohamed 72; Hardat Singh 51, Sherwin Ramnarine 3-40). Back Street Warriors started well with inform batsman Ramnarine Bissessar (54) slamming another fifty in consecutive matches but Nadir Baskh (3-23) and Randy Samaroo (3-29) restricted them to 176-8 off their allotted 20 overs.
Regal XI remained unbeaten as they easily defeated Mahaica Kings XI by 8 wkts:
Mahaica Kings fell for a paltry 93 in 19 overs (Nandalall Chan 35; Lyndon Lyte 3-11 from 4 overs) In reply Regal XI raced to 95-2 in 11.1 overs (Lance Adams 31; Mahendra Arjune 31; Herman Singh 2-16)
Max Masters “B” also defeated Mahaica Kings XI by 2 wickets.
Mahaica Kings XI made 117 all out in 19.5 overs (Nandalall Chan 24; Rudolph Johnson 3-16). Max Masters “B” XI made 119-8 in 18.3 overs (Arjune Persaud 35; Rudolph Johnson 27; Herman Persaud 4-21, Balchand Roopnarine 3-20)
Success XI remained unbeaten by cruising past Marshon SC by 9 wkts:
Marshon made 90 all out in 17.3 overs (Nan Persaud 27; Azad Alli 27; Jeff Ramnauth 4-14; Raymond Karim 2-13). Success XI raced to 93-1 in 8.1 overs (Jeff Ramnauth 38 not out, Vijay Baljit 24 not out)

At Marshon Ground:
Mahaicony Creek Princess “A” got the better of Marshon SC after their game ended in a thrilling tie. The visitors won because of the competition’s rule which says the team batting first will be the winner if both team make the same score.
Mahaicony Creek Princess “A” notched up 69-3 in 10 overs (Shonette Duke 29 not out; Vidyawattie Persaud 23 not out; Dianne Smith 2-10) Marshon SC in reply ended on 69-6 in 10 overs (Nalini Singh 14; Simone Duke 2-5 from 2 overs; Shivanie Husram 2-11, Shonette Duke 2-14)
Mahaica Queens defeated Mahaicony Princessess “B” by 5 wkts:
Mahaicony Princessess “B” made 80-3 in 10 overs (Tamasie Inniss 42, Latchmi Boodhoo 19; Sindy Singh 1-8, Kavita Persaud 1-12) Mahaica Queens replied with 81-5 from 9.4 overs ( 10-year-old Mandy Mangroo hammered 31 not out; Dinawattie Singh 2-3, Satni Retney 2-6)
Mahaica Queen and Mahaicony Princess “B” combined to form Upper East Coast and lost to Marshon SC by 8 wkts:
Upper East Coast made 81-4 in 10 overs (Sumcheer Mangal 29; Pamattie Singh 4-3 from 2 overs) In reply Marshon SC in 8.3 overs (Alicia Singh 35)
Female Linden Zone:
Lamp Island from Kwakwani defeated Uprising Stars of Great Falls by 8 wkts:
Uprising Stars made 39-6 (Noreen Rogers 2-7). Lamp Island Females made 40-2 in 4 overs (Noreen Rogers 24*, Nikeshia Wilson 2-15)
The match between Malali females and Ituni females was abandoned due to rain.
The competition will continue this weekend with several matches.
