Roy Cummings with a net 66 and a gross 82 from a 16 handicap led the field after the first day of competition in this year’s Digicel Open Golf Tournament which is being played at the Lusignan Course.
Cummings is just ahead of Lakeram Ramsundar, who closed the day with a net 67 and an 80 gross after starting with a 13 handicap and Muntaz Haniff with a net 67 and a gross 84 playing off a 17 handicap.
They share the second position, while Rawle Moore finished with a net 68 and a gross 85 playing off a 17 handicap.
The lowest gross of the day went to Mohan Dinanauth with 73, while he also claimed the longest drive of the day prize.
William Walker won the nearest to the pin accolade.Today is the final day of competition and keen rivalry is anticipated among the record 55 entrants that include over eight players from the USA and Canada.
Meanwhile, the competition got started just after 09:00 hrs when Digicel’s CEO Gregory Dean hit the first tee shot to set things in motion.
Other representatives of the Company who were present yesterday included Head of Sales and Distribution Nalini Vieira, Business Development Manager Gavin Hope and Sales Manager Dwayne Scott.
