The Humphrey family continued its longstanding tradition of serving the Charlestown community as it marked another happy occasion last Friday.
Humphrey’s Bakery has been serving baked goods for over 25 years under the leadership of George Humphrey.
Yesterday his daughter, Roshell Humphrey-Wong, following in her father’s footsteps, albeit down a separate path, commissioned her own Western Union/Bill Express Agency adjacent to Humphrey’s Bakery in Ketley Street, Charlestown.
In a small ceremony of family and friends, along with a few representatives of Grace Kennedy Remittance Services, Mrs. Humphrey-Wong celebrated the opening. She said that she hoped the agency would serve the community and bring some more development to the area.
She noted that she felt that the opening of the agency would give the people of the community a boost and make life a little easier for the residents of the area.
Marketing Manager for Grace Kennedy Remittance Services, Mrs. King, said that they were very proud to have an agency in this particular community. She added that the opening of the outlet at Humphrey’s brings the total number of outlets countrywide to 52.
The agency began its operations on Thursday.
