Management of the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) has announced that it has accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer, Errol Hanoman.
Yesterday, officials of the Corporation said that government had expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the Board of Directors, especially “at a time that we are moving to implement measures to improve things.”
A GuySuCo statement said that Hanoman tendered his resignation on July 1 citing personal reasons for his decision.
“He came to the helm of the Industry as Chief Executive Officer in 2009 at a critical juncture; in keeping with a commitment to turn the fortunes of the industry around.”
GuySuCo, in the release, said that its Board of Directors “would like to thank Mr. Hanoman for his efforts in this regard and wish him well in his future endeavours.” Contacted yesterday, Minister of Agriculture, Robert Persaud, in confirming the resignation, noted that a new Chief Executive Officer will be announced shortly.
Hanoman, when contacted, also declined to go into details and would only say that press release “says it all”.
