Race walkers to battle for Caricom Day honours
The Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club (CSTC) is currently finalizing plans to celebrate the 6th Race walk month during the month of August. Activities would be held under the theme, ‘keep alive, keep walking,’ and apart from the qualitative local participation, would also include an overseas delegation from among Caricom Nationals.
Meanwhile, local race walkers are scheduled to compete against each other when the CSTC stages its Caricom Day race walk, on Monday July 5 next. Several of the nation’s top race walkers would convene at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport for the three mile event that culminates at the Soesdyke Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC).
Registration for the event can be done at the CSTC offices, Back Road Soesdyke or at telephone numbers 628-7765 or 686-1607. The race starts at 06:00hrs sharp.
