Topaz to resent real gold medal to fastest male & female swimmer
The Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) will be holding its Annual Independence Meet on the weekend of May 21st – 23rd at the Castellani Pool.
According to a release from GASA, all persons who can swim at least two lengths of the pool (50m) are invited to participate. The release further stated that they are looking forward to schools, other members of the sports fraternity and other associations/organisations to participate.
Topaz (“the only jewelers”) will be presenting one gold medal each to the male and female swimmer swimming the fastest time at this meet.
Entrance fees for spectators will be $200 for adults and children over 12 years of age. No fee will be charged on Friday.

Friday May 21, 2010 –
3:30 pm Warm-up; 4:30 pm 1500m/800m Freestyle; 100m Backstroke
Saturday May 22, 2010
– 9:30 am Warm Up; 10:30 am 100m/200m Individual Medley
50m Butterfly; 100m Freestyle; 50m Breaststroke; 400m Freestyle
Sunday May 23, 2010
– 10:00 am Warm Up; 11:00 am 200m Freestyle; 50m Backstroke; 100m Butterfly; 100m Breaststroke; 50m Freestyle
