Chess association to host tourney starting today
Players affiliated to the Guyana Chess Federation would vie for top honours when the parent body in association with KEI-SHAR’S presents a FIDE Qualifying chess tournament commencing today at the KEI-SHAR’S Sports Club.
Consequently, the top 6 players would then qualify to compete in a FIDE rated tourney slated for late June/early July. The four players from another zone, to be announced later, will arrive in Guyana for the latter tournament.
The local players get into action today from 11:00hrs-16:00hrs and then again on Friday May 7 from 17:45 hrs-18:30 hrs. Activities culminate on Saturday May 8 from 17:00hrs-18:30 PM.
