– Jamaica, Barbados into final
Guyana after a strong start to this year’s Caribbean Netball Association Jean Pierre Youth Tournament which is being played in Barbados suffered back to back defeats, going down to Bermuda and St. Kitts.
The Guyanese first lost to Bermuda 30-19 and then dropped their second game when they went down to St. Kitts 31-26.
In the game against St. Kitts, the leading scorers were Shonette Estwick, who netted 15 goals from 24 attempts, while Kristy Roberts supported with 11 from 15.
Scores: St Kitts 31 (Onika Bloice 2/5, Samantha Hope 14/24, Chalicia Dore 15/17). Guyana 26 (Kristy Roberts 11/15, Shonette Estwick 15/24).
Quarter scores: 5-5, 16-8, 24-17.
Barbados 32 (Shannon Hackett 16/19, Sheniqua Thomas 4/6, Chemyne Alleyne 12/15). Dominica 14 (Sara Baptiste 7/12, Phibisha Joseph 7/11). Quarter scores: 9-5, 16-7, 25-9.

Trinidad and Tobago 34 (Jenice McIntosh 12/12, Kalifa McCollin 7/8, Samantha Wallace 15/17). St Lucia 31 (Jaimie Ambrose 7/11, Jo-ann Anderson 24/33, Gaenelle Solomon 0/1). Quarter scores: 7-11, 16-20, 26-25
Bermuda 34 (Jahtuere Trott 17/27, Kirstin Saltus 16/20, Taahira Butterfield 1/3). Cayman Islands 19 (Kristina Watler 11/16, Rosemarie Wilson 3/6, Hannah Peralta 5/7). Quarter scores: 6-5, 13-12, 27-13.
Meanwhile, Barbados and Jamaica both preserved their unbeaten records in contrasting styles ahead of this evening’s championships decider.
Barbados defeated Dominica, 32-14; while Jamaica demolished St Vincent and the Grenadines, 71-11, no doubt sending another message to Barbados who were struggling to score on the court next to them.
