A thirty five year old man who sexually molested his 15 year old daughter was remanded to prison when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It was alleged that the East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme resident had carnal knowledge of his teenage daughter on August 7, 2009. He was not required to plead to the indictable offence, he was also unrepresented in court yesterday.
Smith admitted to the court that he was infected with a sexual transmitted disease and that he had not used protection when he had sex with his daughter.
However the man claimed that he had intercourse with his daughter long before he became infected.
The prosecutor asked for Smith to be remanded and a date for the preliminary inquiry. The accused was remanded to prison and is expected to make another court appearance on May 3.
A probation report is expected to be presented on the next court date.
