Mar 24, 2010 Letters
Dear Editor,
In Kaieteur News of Saturday, 20 March, 2010, the Chairman of GuySuCo, Dr Nanda Gopaul was quoted as saying that Mr. Asrodeen Shaw allegedly manipulated the MMD’s system to give favoured clients contracts to supply GuySuCo with goods rather than allowing the system to work in a transparent manner it was designed to.
I would like Dr. Gopaul who is also the Chairman of NBS to say whether the system of tendering for the construction of the NBS Head Office was manipulated or not.
Perhaps he should now reply to the letter to the editor of April 25, 2008 from two former directors who resigned over this issue.
Incidentally, I note that the police have been called in to probe possible wrongdoings by Mr. Shaw only after he leveled accusations at senior officials of GuySuCo. Is this a ploy to shift the focus away from the guilty ones?
