First fitness test set for next Saturday
The Guyana Football Referees Council (GRFC) is set to convene a General Members meeting today from 10:00hrs at the Carifesta Sports Complex, Carifesta Avenue, Thomas Lands. The Council’s 2010 programme will continue next Saturday February 20 when the first of several fitness tests will be conducted at the Eve Leary ground commencing at 06:00 hrs. This test will be used to identify referees to participate in the GFF Super League and the Mayors’ Cup competition which are expected to commence shortly.
Also on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, a Referees Fitness Instructor Course will be held at the GFF Office commencing at 10:00hrs. Persons who are desirous of becoming Fitness Instructors can make contact with any active Referee or call the GFF Office on 227 8758. The course will be conducted by FIFA Trained Referee Fitness Instructor, Lindley Langhorne.
A Beginners Referees Course is slated for March 13 – 14 at the Carifesta Sports Complex, commencing at 09:00hrs daily. Interested persons can contact Lawrence ‘Sparrow’ Griffith 621 6986, 227 8758 or any Referee.
Courses are also slated for Linden March 20-21, Bartica March 27-28, Berbice April 10-11, West Demerara April 17-18, Essequibo May 8-9 and Lethem sometime in May also.
Another Fitness Test is slated for April 3rd, 2010.
