Winners of the just concluded Power Stout six-over Tapeball Cricket tournament were presented with their prizes at simple ceremony at Banks DIH, Thirst Park Thursday.
Trophy Stall XI had beaten Gas XI by six wickets in a cliffhanger final at Thirst Park ground.
Trophy Stall made 48 off their allotted six overs and then restricted Gas XI to 47-4 off 5.5 overs despite a defiant 32 not out from Gas Eleven’s Doodnauth Sharma who was later named Man-of-the-Match.
Captain of Trophy Stall Richard Latif received the Power Stout Trophy plus $100,000 from Power Stout Consultant Michael Fung while Captain of Gas XI Nadir Baksh collected the runner up Trophy and $25,000.
Tule Adams, representative of Giftland Office Max presented the Man-of-the-Match Trophy on behalf of his company.
Tournament coordinator Kurt Wilson said he was extremely pleased with the response by teams and offered congratulations to the outstanding teams and players.
He also thanked Banks DIH, Giftland Office Max and other persons who were instrumental in making the tournament a success.
Fung said Banks DIH Ltd. was heartened by turnout and indicated that Power Stout will be highlighted in several major sporting events this year.
Banks DIH Ltd. Communications Manager Troy Peters was also present at the ceremony.
