Dear Editor,
If memory serves me right I recall the PPP won 26 of 53 seats with the PNC 22 and the UF 5.
Later there were two defections; George Bowman and Mohamed Saffie from the PPP and eventually to the PNC. Twenty-six could have been the moral justification to call on the PPP to choose a partner to form the Govt. in the first place. Additionally, it was so told to Dr Jagan at the Conference that the party with the majority of seats if it could not form the Govt. on it’s own could choose a partner to do same. Joseph White
