Dear Editor,
I wish to respond to one “B. Jailall” concerning my uttering about the Cabinet Corentyne outreach last week. The letter was written to shine the image of Government by someone presumably from Region Six, but I will not play a game of ‘catch’ with that writer.
While I still stand by my original arguments, the writer seemed bothered that [I] Mr. Suseran “often write negative things about the Government and Regional Democratic Council (RDC).” Well, this writer (me) calls it like it is. I don’t sugar-coat anything I write about. I write it as I see it. Too bad if I don’t sound “politically loyal”, but let’s call a spade a spade.
“B. Jailall” says that “the President visit on the Corentyne is not because of supporter, but care for his people”. What “people” is the writer talking about? I am sure the President (and “B. Jailall”) is aware that his “people” are getting fed up and disgusted with his type of leadership and what is going on here in Region Six.
I am living proof of this. I was once a staunch supporter of the PPP and even this RDC in Region Six. I find the words “excellent work of the Regional Chairman Mr Z. Mustapha”; laughable, funny, and amusing to say the least.
When the PPP and RDC do some good, I will tell about it here in these columns. For now, my eyes are on them!
We have reached a low point in our country when neither the President nor the Prime Minister is in the country and when our nation has to be governed by the Home Affairs Minister.
Only in Guyana; only in Guyana ….
“B. Jailall” seems so adamant in defending the RDC in Region Six. Well how can they defend the transfer of an official of the RDC to Region 10 for alleged corruption? How can Jailall defend the alleged holding of meetings in many RDCs in the Region with just two and three members present?
My father had wanted the President to come in the Cumberland area to meet and spill all the beans to him. However, coincidentally or not, the President was notably absent from these areas, as well as his ministers.
The writer seems knowledgeable of my past writings in these columns “against” the Government and RDC. While I’ve been around for quite some time championing the cause of Berbicians in the letter columns, exposing what needs to be exposed and made known and speaking my mind, where was “B. Jailall”?
I cannot recall seeing such a name before writing anything for the Government. So, “B. Jailall”, where, why, and how come you are now being heard from? I am real and actually exist, Jailall are you?
Leon Suseran
