Hospital officials have placed restrictions on relatives who are visiting the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation’s Burns Unit to see the 14-year-old boy who was severely burned by police ranks. The boy’s parents said that while they are being allowed to visit him, security officials at the GPHC have informed them that no other visitors will be allowed. They said that several residents from Canal Number Two came to see the lad, only to be turned away.
In addition, the parents said that staffers in the Burns Unit have declined to divulge information about their son’s condition or the name of the doctor that is treating him. The lad was admitted to the GPHC on Saturday, after spending three days in the lockups with severe burns to his genitals, midriff and thighs.
