Dear Editor,
When GPL said that things will get worse before they get better, they did not lie. On 13th October, 2009 the current went off at approximately 8.35 am and came on back at around 2.45 pm.
Given the way the current blues were going this made me hopeful that at least I would be blessed with electricity for the rest of the day. Well it came off at 6,55 pm and then the scary part began. The lights which were the only things I left on would go dim then get extremely bright and this continued until 2.11 am when the current came on as per normal, but my joy was short-lived as it went out back at 2.13 am.
As much as this situation is frustrating to me I am aware that I am not unique in this and that is what thousand of Guyanese are going through on a daily basis, save and except for our leaders, who continue to stand at press conferences and podiums both local and international and proclaim the progress that Guyana has made.
I truly feel that they are insulated from the miseries of the general populace in Pradoland. I am 37 years of age and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would watch my kids, one of whom is preparing for CXC struggle to cope with studying and blackouts, like I did at that age.
I am one of I suppose many Guyanese, who sincerely regret that I did not migrate when I had opportunities to do so, and would jump at the chance now should there be a legal way to so do Affected Consumer
