Dear Editor,
My attention has been drawn to the following blog on the SN website (http://www.stabroeknews.com/2009/letters/09/22/reasons-for-changing-from-ppp-to-afc/):
“PPP stalwart Cecil Ramsingh, passed away in Miami, on September 18, 2009.
Funeral Service will be at Caballero Woodlawn Funeral Home, 11655 SW 117th. Ave, MIAMI, Florida….Phone 305-238-3672 on Friday September 25, 2009 at 4:30 PM…….I will attend……I understand Cecil will be cremated and his ashes taken back to Guyana.
I know of the years of dedicated services, by Cecil, to the PPP.
I saw Cecil on March 30, 2007 in Guyana, during 2007 Cricket World Cup. He mentioned PPP’s current leadership’s ungratefulness, to persons who served the PPP in the past.
May Cecil Ramsingh Rest in Peace with His Lord.”
I am deeply saddened as I have known him from since the 1950s, and we shared a close relationship. He worked at the Mirror Newspaper in an administrative capacity for many years. He was also a very close friend of Claude Christian, former PPP Minister of Home Affairs in the 60s, and Jack Kelshall former adviser to Premier Cheddi Jagan.
I express heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to his family on behalf of the Ramsaroop family, and may he rest in peace.
Boyo Ramsaroop
