What s going on in the Guyana Prison Service?

What s going on in the Guyana Prison Service? It seems no one cares about the condition of prison officers, who are slaving from 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs at the Georgetown Prison, although they are suppose to work up to 15:00hrs. A number of things need to he investigated:
1. Who is the Director of Prisons — Dale Erskine or the Staff Welfare Officer, as orders come from both parties which are contradictory.
2. Some officers are given priority over others because of connections.
3. Officers not on the job are receiving their full salary.
4. Contracted officers are promoted and given duty free concession.
5. Little internal training on prison duties is done for officers.
6. A survey should be done to measure the effectiveness of the Staff Welfare
Officer.
These Issues are demoralising both senior and junior officers who are fed up.
