Woman robbed, sexually assaulted in Bachelor’s Adventure
Early yesterday morning, a woman from Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara, was robbed by a man armed with a handgun, before he sexually assaulted her.
According to the police, the victim was on her way home at approximately 00:15 hours yesterday when she was approached by a man armed with a handgun. He proceeded to relieve her of her jewellery and $15,000 in cash.
The man proceeded to sexually assault her before he made his escape. The police are still investigating.
Residents of the area have said that in recent months there has been an increase in the number of sexual crimes along the East Coast. The police think one individual is behind all of the recent sexual crimes in the area.
