Unbeaten Georgetown hammer East Coast by 10 wickets
W/Demerara beat E/Bank by 2 wickets in rain hit match

Defending champions Georgetown, the best prepared and most efficient of the four teams in the Nalico/Nafico Demerara Cricket Board Inter-Association 50-overs under-15 cricket competition, maintained their unbeaten record, while West Demerara registered their first win in second round action yesterday.
Georgetown, who bundled out West Demerara for 37 in their emphatic first round win in West Bank Demerara on Thursday, produced another clinical performance to hammer East Coast by 10 wickets at Lusigan yesterday.
Christopher Surat grabbed 5-11 with his off-spin as the host fell for 106 in 38 overs and then returned to hit an undefeated 61 in an unfinished opening partnership with Brandon Chanderpaul who made 21 not out to see the City side to 108 without loss from 32 overs.
The talented Brian Sattaur followed his first round half-century with a top score of 27 while Reyad Zaman (25) and Steve Ramdass (14) were the batsmen to reach double figures for East Coast.
Skipper Shaquille Williams and Chanderpaul supported Surat with two wickets each as Georgetown took the lead in the competition.
Surat, a dapper batsman from Everest then dominated the opening partnership and hit four fours and four sixes while the more sedate Chanderpaul, the left-handed son of Test player Shivnarine Chanderpaul, reached the boundary twice in his supporting role.
At the Canal Number Two Sports Club ground, East Bank reached 145-8 in their allotted 30 overs in the rain-affected game with Mark Anthony making 46 and Andy Forrester 24.
Trevon Bobb took 3-41 while Arvin Seepersaud had 2-13 for West Demerara who reached 146-8 in the final over.
Chandrika Persaud top scored with 30 while Akshaya Persaud (25), Seepersaud (17) and Rickey Hinds (14) supported.
The third round of the competition, which is being used to select the Demerara team for the Castrol Under-15 inter country tournament which starts on February 28, continues on Tuesday when Georgetown play East Bank at Everest and West Demerara oppose East Coast at Lusignan.
