Pioneer Construction 2nd round basketball action starts today
Second round action in the Pioneer Construction sponsored senior club double round championship organised by the Linden Amateur Basketball Association will begin this evening and continue on the weekend with double header cards at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court.
The first game this evening brings together Alleyene’s Retrieve Raiders against Patriots from 18:30hrs and at 20:30hrs Glands Trucking Service Bulls play national club champions and current league leaders Wismar Pistons.
Tomorrow, the first game will see New Ballers take on Raiders while Amelia’s Ward Jets and Victory Valley Royals bounce off in the feature.
On Sunday, Ballers will again be in action this time they take on Bulls in the first game with Patriots tackling Pistons in the second.
At the end of the first round, Wismar Pistons and Amelia’s Ward Jets were in the lead with 11 points each, Royals 10 followed by Patriots 9, Bulls 8, Raiders and Ballers 7 apiece.
Meanwhile, the LABA has warned clubs that the walkover rule will be in effect against teams who fail to be on time.
It is therefore important that the club managers and coaches ensure that their charges are at the venue on time.
