Dear Editor,
As we enter 2009, I foresee many challenges globally, and one must not lose focus with one’s independent project/s.
The new “American Administration” will soon take office, which the world over is much awaiting for changes; but one must not be carried away with the idea that, if indeed one needs change, it will be coming to one’s respective region.
My interpretation of “Change,” from the just concluded election campaign in the US, is for “The American People,” and most of the four-year term will be spent addressing the transformation of “The American Society” from its present economic and recessionist crises.
Other major focuses will be spent on the two ongoing wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, global warming, North Korea, Iran, Sudan and the conflict with Israel and Hamas/ Palistinians.
So, stop holding your breath, Guyanese, and continue to be more innovative in creating your own change, if it is needed, and for any/new further development.
You have most of what it takes, with the exception of technology, and use it.
At the end of the day, we are considered Third World, and nothing is going to change that. T. Pemberton
