Dear Editor,
Mr. Greene if you do not want people to take matters into their own hands, then why are the police not there for the people when a call is made?
Are we to believe that the news reports are incorrect when they say “police were called, line was busy” or “no police officers there”?
Mr. Greene please tell the people of Guyana that the reports out of SN are incorrect, that police were called for a murder and the caller was told that there are no police officers there at the time.
Who then showed up three hours later?
Mr. Greene, how many times we read the news report that 911 calls are made and the lines are busy.
Please tell us if this is true or false and then tell us how on God’s earth this could happen.
The people don’t expect police to be there to stop every crime; all they are asking is that when a crime is committed or in the process of being committed and they call the police, that the police respond in a timely manner.
Mr. Greene, is this too much to ask or is it just a burden on the police force and they just can’t be bothered?
Mr. Greene, are you telling me if a crime is being perpetrated on me, I am not allowed to defend myself by taking matters into my own hands? We all fully understand that a man lost his life due to a mistake but how many times you think people will make that mistake?
Mr. Greene, an innocent man was shot by police due to a prisoner trying to escape from the court room.
Mr. Greene, whose fault is this?
Any and all notorious criminals should be shackled and in chains while attending court. Mr. Greene, would you not agree with me on this?
Mr. Greene, when will you and security get it and understand this, criminals already told themselves they have nothing to loose so they will kill if they have to, to gain their freedom. T. King
