Several charities have received financial assistance from the District Grand Lodge (DGL) as part of the organisation’s outreach programme.
At a simple ceremony held at the Freemasons’ Hall at Company Path in Georgetown recently, District Grand Master, Richard Fields, presented cheques to ten organizations drawn from Linden, Berbice and Georgetown.
The recipients were Linden School for the Handicapped Children, Good Samaritan of New Amsterdam, Sacred Heart Church, Mildred Mansfield Youth Club, St. Andrew’s Church, St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Thomas Lands YMCA, Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre, Dharm Shala and Joshua House.
Mr. Fields said the money was raised through several fund-raising activities and the DGL was extremely pleased to be making a meaningful contribution to society over the years. Witnessing the presentation ceremony were several officers of the DGL.
