Magistrate Krishendat Persaud yesterday remanded a man to prison after he was slapped with five counts of robbery under arms.
The accused, 28-year-old Marlon Cush, of Kingstown, Corriverton made his appearance at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court on a charge of robbing Salima Jamaladeen of cash and jewellery totaling $390,000; Ramdeo Lotan of items and cash totaling $100,000; Nanhu Lochan, of items and cash totaling $398,000; Intiaz Ferooz Deen, of $20,000 in cash; and Viswah Vedoo of $3,000 in cash. The robberies occurred in August.
All the charges were indictable and the accused was not required to plead. He was remanded and is expected to make his next court appearance on January 24.
