After two nights of pulsating action in the Guinness “Greatest in de Street” four-a-side football tournament last weekend at Burnham Court and Broad Street tarmac, the action will now switch to the East Ruimveldt Basketball Court this evening for eight more matches.
Kingston will start the ball rolling when they oppose Sophia at 18:00 hours followed by Aubrey Barker Road against West Ruimveldt Front Road half an hour later.
Fourth Street Alberttown will do battle with Leopold Street, Stevedore Housing Scheme will tackle Campbellville, Holmes Street Tiger Bay will square off with Durban Street, Lodge, Alexander Street will challenge Broad Street ‘B’, Alexander Village will face Charles Street and North East La Penitence will face off against Festival City.
Eight more matches will be played Wednesday evening at Albouystown Basketball Court at Hunter Street junction.
The 32 competing teams are drawn from Lodge, Kingston, Albouystown, Kitty, Campbellville, Lacytown, Plaisance, West Ruimveldt, North Ruimveldt, Queenstown, Charlestown, Agricola, Sophia and Werk-en-Rust.
The final is slated for December 19 at the National Park tarmac.
