– makes cash donations to NGOsCelebrating its 5th Anniversary on Friday last, the management of John Lewis Styles presented cheques of G$100,000 each to five non-governmental organizations in the drive to remain good corporate citizens.
Those receiving the cash gifts to aid in their day to day functions were the Guyana Relief Council, Kids First Fund, NCN Radio’s Needy Children Fund, Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Georgetown.
Addressing the media at the short ceremony hosted at the entity’s Lamaha Street location, the proprietor, John Lewis, said as part of their fifth anniversary celebrations they decided to make the monetary donations and would continue to do so, on an annual basis.
He said his entity recognizes the hard work and dedication each organization exhibits on all projects and is pleased to be associated with their efforts. He further stated that the donation highlights their social and ethical responsibilities to society in being good corporate contributors.
In conclusion he stated that John Lewis Styles will continue to be ‘simply different’ and is proud to partner with the organizations as they join forces in working together for a better Guyana.
Accepting the cheque for the Guyana Relief Council, representative Lynette Carter was highly appreciative of the donation. Receiving for NCN Radio’s Needy Children Fund, Doris Lewis lauded the efforts of the donor noting that the contribution would go a far way in enhancing the fund’s smooth functioning.
Stacy Johnson of the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre congratulated the donors on five years of distinguished service and also thanked them for the timely donation.
Rock Beharry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Georgetown was extremely grateful for the cash gift and also took the opportunity to congratulate the store’s management.
President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Chandradat Chintamani noted that other corporate entities need to follow in the tracks of John Lewis Styles, and wished the management and staff continued success in their future endeavours.
No representative was there to receive the cheque on behalf of the Kids First Fund.
