Teenager remanded for Paradise stabbing death
Dead: Dexroy Dodson
Magistrate Sherdell Isaacs on Friday remanded a 16-year-old Paradise male to prison when he appeared before her at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court on a murder charge.
The teenager is accused of murdering Dexroy Dodson, called ‘Magga Man’, at the Dazelle Housing Scheme, Paradise, East Coast Demerara on Wednesday night.
Dodson’s blood covered body was discovered lying in a clump of bushes near his home by his father who had heard the ringing of his cellular phone after dialing the number.
A post mortem examination performed on the body on Friday revealed that Dodson died from haemorrhage due to a stab wound to the heart.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a misunderstanding over the suspect’s sister.
The suspect, who had fled the scene, subsequently turned himself in to police at the Cove and John Police Station the following day.
He was not required to plead to the murder charge and will have to return to court on September 30 for a police report on the matter.
