Bill has gone away for now. But not before keeping his eyes and ears open on your behalf.
*What is the collective noun for Guyanese Police Commissioners? Over the last weekend, Bill was able to shake hands with four – Mr Raghubir, Laurie L, Floyd Mac and Henry G .It might have been a full house. Sadly, nobody knows where Winston F is.
*Rumours of a Cabinet reshuffle reach Bill’s ears. Three ministers are said to be ‘on the move’. Not necessarily by choice. Bharrat should shuffle this pack more often. Nothing keeps a politician on his toes more than to know he faces a career firing squad if he does not perform. The three – Bill is sworn to silence – include some veterans. Allegedly.
*Bill hears too that the Foreign Diplomatic pack is to be rearranged. Some of them guys been so long in the job they think they own it. Not healthy for them or, worse, for Guyana.
*Tittle tattle from the Presidential box at Carifesta closing. Who were the two ‘Putagee mafia’(Copyright Desmond Hoyte) in the President’s inner sanctum until late? Why was CN in the box? Is he being softened up to reverse his large party into the PPP/Civic for the next election
*Good to see Sean Bhola at the Closing Ceremony. Why was he looking at the lights and singing that little jingle of his from the radio? Bill is very intrigued. Very.
*The Waithe Concert at the Officers’ Mess on Monday was a treat. A chance to celebrate Keith, but also a chance for the GPF to come up smelling of roses, after nabbing ‘Fine Man’ and “Skinny’.
*Why not leave poor Freddie alone? It seems at least one of the “Peeping Toms’ in this organ has it in for him. The Fredster is a Guyanese national treasure. Bill always reads his morning rants…er…sorry columns. The best laxative start to the day.
*Well done LATE Airline. You managed to move me and my baggage all the way from Timehri to Barbados. Some achievement based on my previous experience. Wasn’t that difficult was it now?
You see what Bill means about the geography of Gossip. One small thing leads to another. Bill will be back. Promise.
Pip!Pip!
