PMTC hosts 1- day Horse Race meet on Sunday
The best horses in the land are expected to be in the line up on Sunday when the Port Mourant Turf Club brings off a big 1-day Horse Race Meeting on Sunday.
C/Class and Lower Thoroughbreds will match strides in the feature event which will be one mile and a 1st place prize of $300,000 at stake. Hefty sums are also in line for the 2nd – 4th place finishers.
Also striding for a distance of one mile will be 3 year-old horses competing in the second race of the day. Prizes 1st – 4th are $200,000, $100,000, $50,000 and 25,000.
The other feature race on the day’s programme is for 2 year-olds over a distance of 5 furlongs with the top prize being $160,000.
A number of other exciting races are on the programme which is expected to be entertaining. Some of the others are for horses classified F, H, I, J, K, L and lower.
The organizers are working overtime to ensure that the intended massive crowd enjoy the best of surroundings come race day, Sunday.
