MCY&S Inter Block kicks off at Pouderoyen tonight
Rivalry in the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport (MCY&S) Nationwide Inter Block Football competition is set to kick off this evening at the West Demerara Secondary School ground from 18:30hrs.
Sixteen (16) teams primarily from the village of Pouderoyen will be battling in the 7 a-side competition which would be contested on a round-robin format with teams placed in groups of 4 each.
Facing off in the first match will be Beavers and the Church team to be followed by matches between Middle Street and Stewartville, Coglan Dam match skills with Jetty and the final match of the night brings together Reggae and Rovers.
Similar competitions are ongoing on the East Demerara and East Bank, coordinated by Parliamentary Secretary in the MCYS, Steve Ninvalle. The is an initiative of the Ministry to aid in the grass roots development of football.
