Soldier, 25, confesses to molesting stepdaughter, 12
A serving member of the Guyana Defence Force is now in police custody at the Brickdam Police Station for being sexually involved with his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
According to reports, the army rank, said to be a 25-year-old man, shared a relationship with the girl’s mother. He then turned his attention to the child. It is not clear when he began to sexually molest the girl but police sources said that he has since confessed to the sexual relationship.
The story came to light when the girl’s mother began to suspect something was wrong with her daughter who began to act suspiciously. Following a conversation with the girl, the mother learnt that her paramour was sexually involved with her daughter.
When the police arrested him yesterday, the soldier admitted to the relationship. Charges are pending.
