Over forty five (45) horses have been entered for the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facility Caricom Day of Horse Racing tomorrow at their Alness Village, Corentyne, Berbice racetrack.
This meeting is sponsored by Banks DIH in collaboration with the Club, who have expressed their thanks to the Management of the beverage giants, who came to the rescue after a major sponsor opted out for unforeseen reasons.
Five feature events listed in the day’s eight races card. The 2 year old event, one of the feature events, has attracted twelve horses over 1000 meters. This race is sponsored by the Jeff Mootoo of Rumours Racing Stables with a purse and Trophy of $200,000 on offer.
Among some of the horses likely to challenge for the title are Coconut Boy from the Farina Stables, Prince Warrior of Customs Racing Stables, It’s All Indian from the Seenarine Stables, Amy Jane from L. Crawford Stables, Pleasure Star, Indian Flag, Taste of Paradise, Delyan, Tidal Wave, Druma Boy and Star Streak.
The other feature event, the C & Lower sponsored by Banks DIH at 1400 meters, will see Laura Lee in Flight, Getting Something, Delmur Gold, Black Comb and Miss Republic among others.
The E & Lower over 1200 meters sponsored by The Club, includes Bashra, Fire Power, Face De Music, Sir Balajie, Forrest Ranger and Sacrifice.
The 3 years old event covering 1400 meters pits Showing up, The Gap, Tropical, Passion, Pinch The Cash and Customs Warrior battling for top spots. This race is also sponsored by the Race Club.
In the G Class event at a distance of 1200 meters, horses taking part include Vanessa, Peace of Mind, Alphabet, Such is Life, Perfect Drift, Baby Boy and others.
There are races for horses classified I & Lower 1200 meters, J & K 1200 meters, L & Lower 1200 meters. Races commence at 1:00 pm sharp.
