The Bartica Football Association recently benefited from the generosity of a former resident.
They recently received of a barrel containing football gear sent from Canada by a football enthusiast, Robert Jardine, who is a born Bartician now residing in Canada. Jardine was active in football and played for the Wolves United Club in the area.
The BFA received a number of balls, bags, boots to be used by youth footballers, football training bibs and cones amongst other items.
On hand to receive the gifts was BFA Vice President Christopher George, who expressed gratitude to Jardine, who is better known as Cornbread, for his encouragement and his assistance in ensuring that the game of football is carried on by the youths of Bartica.
Making the presentation was Mark Jardine, the brother of the donor.
Robert Jardine had been in contact with the BFA President Carlos Prowell to make the donation possible.
