(Kaieteur News) – Steve Ramdhol and Mahendra Persaud set up Timehri Sport Club for a comfortable 19-run victory over Little Diamond Sports Club in the latest East Bank Cricket Association/Rovin Bookie T/10 championship fixtures at the Laluni Community Ground.
Batting first, Ramdhol and Persaud scored the bulk of the runs as Timehri reached 119-5 in their 10 overs. Ramdhol smashed a fireworks 43, hitting five fours and three sixes, while Persaud anchored the innings with a watchful 42, which included two fours and a handful of sixes. Together they carried Timehri to a decent total under the unbearable heat on Sunday last.
In response, Little Diamond’s batters got starts but were unable to cross the line, closing on 100-6. Vinod Persaud was the pick of the bowlers with a tidy 3-16, restricting Little Diamond to 19 runs shy of their target.
The action continues this weekend at the Canal #2 ground, as well as at the LBI, Laluni and Farm grounds.
