Miriam Alexander wears the crown
– to represent Guyana at Miss Independence Int’l, Miss Culture Queen
(Kaieteur News) – Guyanese model and pageant enthusiast, Miriam Alexander will represent Guyana at Miss Independence International schedule taking place in July 2027 in the USA and at the Miss Culture Queen Pageant slated to take place in St Kitts and Nevis in August.
According to a release from Franchise Holder of the pageants, Meleesa Payne, Alexander was selected to represent the country due her experience in runway modelling and pageantry.
Miriam Alexander is Miss Independence International Guyana.
The release posted on the Miss Independence International Guyana page, noted Alexander’s adventure as a model and pageant enthusiast began in 2020. She has participated in numerous fashion shows, including ‘Origins, Bold, and Fashion in Paradise.’ Her experience in runway modelling has instilled in her a sense of discipline and the importance of self-love.

This, along with ongoing training, has led to her impressive accomplishments in pageantry, including titles such as Miss Global Guyana 2022, Miss Mash Queen 2023, 1st Runner-Up Miss Guyana Culture Queen 2024, and 1st Runner-Up Miss Cosmo Guyana 2025.
According to the information, outside of pageantry, the title holder loves the creative arts. For her, it represents much more than just a hobby; they serve as a profound avenue for self-expression and a meaningful link to her heritage and culture.
From an early age, she realised that the arts offered a nurturing environment where creativity, discipline, and confidence could thrive.
This passion blossomed during her time at The Bishop’s High School (2015–2021), where she excelled academically while actively engaging in dance, drama, sports, and various extracurricular activities.
Her commitment to dance culminated in her graduation with distinction from the National School of Dance in 2022. Additionally, she achieved a pass with distinction in Grade 1 Music Theory from the Royal School of Music in 2017, and she continues to hone her talents and stay actively involved in the arts.
Through dance and artistic expression, the beauty queen discovers a voice that enables her to celebrate her identity, share stories, and honor the rich cultural traditions that define her.
At present, the young’s queen’s aspirations go beyond winning a fourth crown for Guyana; she aims to inspire her peers and younger generations, demonstrating that with faith, hard work, discipline, and perseverance, anything is achievable.
As such, she will also represent Guyana in the international leg of the Miss Independence International schedule, taking place in July 2027 in the USA and Miss Culture Queen Pageant slated to take place in St Kitts and Nevis in August.
