Labourer remanded for armed robbery
(Kaieteur News) – A 25-year-old labourer was on Tuesday charged with Robbery Under Arms when he appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse.
Remanded: Kumar Persaud
The accused, Kumar Persaud, of Annadale New Scheme, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was arrested on June 3 “in relation to offences committed on a 30-year-old man of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, on May 27, 2026, at Mon Repos Market Road, East Coast Demerara.”
Persaud “pleaded not guilty to the offence of Robbery Under Arms and guilty with explanation to the offence of Malicious Damage to Property.”
He was denied bail on both matters, police said.
The matters were adjourned to July 20, 2026.
