According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the fatal accident occurred at about 21:30h and involved a truck bearing registration number GRR7067 that was driven by a 31-year-old man of One Mile, Wismar, Linden.
“Initial enquiries revealed that the motor lorry was proceeding south along the eastern driving lane of the highway, reportedly at a fast rate of speed, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the left-side rail of a concrete bridge,” police said.
